The 8th MARC21 Workshop held last November 29 in Iligan City hosted by Iligan Medical Center College (IMCC) in partnership with the Lanao Librarians Association (LLA) drew 22 participants from nearby provinces. They were welcomed by Dr. Daniel P. U. Rigor (VP for Academic Affairs, IMCC) whom Mr. Gaudencio M. Alaya-ay Jr. (Basic Education Department (BED) Librarian, IMCC) introduced. Dr. Rigor expressed pleasure in hosting a seminar for EISI in cooperation with IMCC and pointed out some positive outcomes a participant can gain through the said workshop. Also present was Ms. Myrna Halim (LLA President) who gave the closing remarks.
Venue was at the computer center, IMCC which has the state-of-the-art facilities for the conduct of trainings such as the MARC workshop, which requires internet-connected computers. Once again we were pleased to have Mr. Francisco T. Tamor of UP Diliman, College of Science Library, with Mr. Pedro Tabinas of EISI as trainors. The seminar would not have been possible without the coordination done by Ms. Agnes Cahanap (Chief Librarian, IMCC), Mr. Joannes Tabaniag (Assistant Librarian, IMCC) and Ms. Zenaida Abragan of EISI who was the overall coordinator. The cooperation and partnership of the various institution involved, truly makes a difference in the outcome of the MARC21 workshop.
