The Academic Libraries Book Acquisition Systems Association Inc. (ALBASA) held its 34th annual General Assembly last May 29-31, 2007 at the Cebu City Sports Club, Cardinal Rosales Avenue, Cebu City. ALBASA is a non-profit corporation organized by librarians for their institution libraries for the following purposes: to engage in a joint ,coordinated program of library book purchasing both locally and abroad to avail of volume discounts and other technical advantages; to provide a clearinghouse for various cooperative activities among member libraries; and to conduct workshops and seminars for professional growth of librarians.

Many librarians from different institutions attended the said assembly with the theme of “The Library Reloaded: Creating a New Ambience for the Library Users”. EISI was one of the exhibitors. Since most of the ALBASA members are from Visayas and Mindanao, we took advantage of this event to keep in touch with our customers and friends by sending our representatives Snowy Salas (Visayas Region) and Axel Cabarles (Mindanao Region).
