A total of sixty-six (66) librarians, educators and MIS personnel attended the launch of Follett Destiny Resource Management Solution held last March 25, 2010 at One San Miguel Place, San Miguel Avenue, Pasig City. They came from 29 institutions mostly from Metro Manila but some came from as far as Tuguegarao and Davao. The event was organized by Follett Philippine distributor Electronic Information Solutions Inc (EISI) with support from Follett International. EISI Managing Director Reuel Avila gave a short history of EISI and the current status of its library automation efforts in the Philippines. Follett Software Company founder Chuck Follett gave a background of Follett Corporation and its affiliated companies, which today is a US$2.7 billion company. EISI Sales Manager Axel Cabarles, demonstrated the flagship product, Destiny Library Manager to the delight of the attendees, while Tim Ramsey, Follett International Regional Sales Manager, discussed the important features of the other Destiny modules – Textbook Manager, Asset Manager and Media Manager. Also present in the event were Zachary Colandrea, VP Sales, and Mike Dregalla, Sales Director – Asia/Pacific & Latin America, both of Follett International. An exhibit was also set up so participants can view the products and peripherals supplied by EISI. Lastly, the attendees were treated to a raffle which included individual prizes as well as discount coupons for their sending institutions. Below are some pictures of the event.
